Chinese President meets Manmohan Singh, talks on strong relations


President of China, Hu Jintao, met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the sidelines of G-8 summit. He said that relations between two countries are in the best of times and there is a scope to develop further.

Hu talked about cooperation and building a strategic tie-up between the two countries. He also talked about global issues that affect both India and China. He said that as both India and China grow, they have greater responsibility for the world.

He, however, did not skip the contentious border issue. He said that he wanted to solve the border demarcation issue with a fair and just solution acceptable to both sides.

Both leaders also talked about Olympics where Manmohan commended China for organizing it and Hu wishing best of luck to Indian atheletes.
