announce the addition of Dr. Nadia Soboleva and Dr. Guy Ben-Ishai as
Senior Consultants in the firms Intellectual Property and Antitrust and
Competition Practices. Dr. Soboleva and Dr. Ben-Ishai are based in
NERAs San Francisco office.

Dr. Soboleva is an economist with deep expertise in industrial
organization and international economics. She has specialized in
applying economic analysis to client cases involving joint ventures,
allegations of price fixing, monopolization, collusion, trade secrets,
patents, and copyright issues. She also has extensive experience in
advising companies on business strategy based on statistical analyses of
large-scale and complex data sets. She has worked with domestic and
international businesses on cases in the payment cards, automobile,
pharmaceutical, consumer products, medical device, and information
technology industries. She joins NERA from Cornerstone Research. Before
that, Dr. Soboleva was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the
University of Toronto and a Consultant at the World Bank. Dr. Soboleva
received her PhD, MPhil, and MA in Economics from Yale University, and
an MA in Development Economics from Williams College.
Dr. Ben-Ishai is an expert in industrial organization and applied
microeconomics, with a particular focus in antitrust and intellectual
property. He has conducted economic analysis on matters involving tying,
bundled discounts, resale price maintenance, exclusive dealing, refusals
to deal, predatory pricing, monopolization, mergers, joint ventures,
price fixing, market allocation, and patent misuse. Dr. Ben-Ishai also
has extensive expertise estimating complex damages, conducting
econometric and statistical analysis, and assessing the appropriateness
of class certification. Dr. Ben-Ishai received a PhD in Economics from
the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a BA in Economics from UCLA.
Prior to joining NERA, he was a Visiting Researcher at the University of
Toulouse and held positions at LECG, Compass Lexecon, and the Israel
Antitrust Authority.
