Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) today announced the extension of its ground handling service partnership with Cathay Pacific Airways, the international flag carrier for Hong Kong, with the launch of the airline’s flight operations to Hyderabad International Airport. Cathay Pacific Airways has expanded its footprint in India with direct flights between Hyderabad and Hong Kong, four times a week.
Currently, AISATS manages the ground handling services for Cathay Pacific Airways’ freighter operations and their sister company, Hong Kong Dragon Airlines at Bengaluru International Airport. The latter won numerous accolades including “Best Airport Performance” in their network for Y2010 and Y2011 consecutively. With the start of airport services at Hyderabad, AISATS will strengthen its service partnership with the airline. The ground handling services at Hyderabad will include a comprehensive portfolio of ramp, baggage and passenger handling for the airline which operates the Airbus A330, a wide-body aircraft, on this sector.
Mr. Willy Ko, CEO of AISATS said “We are pleased to be the preferred ground handler for Cathay Pacific Airways’ Hyderabad operations. Our association with the Cathay Pacific Group began in 2008 with Hong Kong Dragon Airlines in Bengaluru, and the extension of our services to Cathay Pacific Airways in Hyderabad further reinforces our successful partnership. We will work closely with the airline to ensure world class services to passengers, in line with our commitment towards premier customer service.”
Tom Wright, General Manager – South Asia, Middle East & Africa, Cathay Pacific Airways added, “We are delighted to be launching flights from Hyderabad to Hong Kong. This new service marks an important step in expanding our presence in India, further emphasizing our commitment to this market. We are happy to be working with AISATS as our ground handling partner in Hyderabad and look forward to a fruitful partnership”
The Cathay Pacific Airways’ flight will leave from Hyderabad for Hong Kong on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. This will be the airline’s fourth destination in India, after Mumbai, Chennai and New Delhi and sixth destination along with their sister airline, Hong Kong Dragon Airlines. AISATS and Cathay Pacific Airways are looking to combine their strengths in order to emulate their successful association at the Hyderabad International Airport.
AISATS is present in Hyderabad since March 2008, handling about 9,700 flights per year out of Hyderabad International Airport. Reputed for its premium and reliable ground handling services, AISATS aims to enhance the overall travel experience of every passenger across airports in Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mangalore and Trivandrum.
